Introducing your vegan celebrant, Cara
In her teens Cara adopted a vegan lifestyle under the mentorship of the late Bruce Standish. She remembers Bruce as a spiritual man who epitomised kindness and compassion. By working with vegans and their families to celebrate joyful life affirming ceremonies she follows the his example in her own way.
As a professional celebrant for over twenty years, Cara regularly conducts civil and spiritual wedding ceremonies, naming ceremonies and other celebrations. Cara understands people's need to celebrate their unique lives and relationships, in ways that allow them to fully express who they are.
As a non-discriminating Religious Marriage Celebrant Cara has passed a Working With Children Check in Victoria. She supports the push to make the clergy safe for children and accountable for past wrongs. Cara is also a long time member of the Fellowship of Isis.
In addition to this work Cara has taught in tertiary institutions in Australia and the United States, specializing in the areas of built environment and gender. Her research focuses on people who build their own houses.
She also loves to spend time in her garden growing herbs and tomatoes and tending her stone circle garden and fruit trees. She is a proud mother and grandmother, and has a passion for genealogy and learning about her ancestors.
